🍷 The Level 2 course is suitable for beginners to intermediates. 🍇 It provides a thorough introduction to the main styles of wine and the principal and regionally important grape varieties of the world. 🥂I really enjoyed it. Thinking about it? Here's what you need to know (spoiler: you get to sample 43 wines).

I WANT TO CHANGE JOB! 😳 ----No, that's not actually true...But it was the first ironic thought that crossed my mind yesterday morning when my alarm started ringing at 5 am,giving me a couple more hours to review before taking my D1 exam for the West Diploma course at the WSET School London It often happens to me, particularly when I'm about to tackle something challenging, that I find myself in a state of panic at the very last minute, questioning WHY I've put myself in such a situation.Whether it's before an exam I've chosen to take, standing at the starting line of a full marathon,or preparing a speech to a large audience, this feeling is familiar!I am confident that my exam went quite well.I was comfortable with all the topics that were askedand made as many connections between information and facts as possible. If yesterday morning's feeling was that the wine business might be too much for me,or that the level of success I aspire to might be out of reach, today, after a good night's sleep and a strong coffee, I feel differently. I want to become the best professional I CAN BE in the wine business.Stepping out of your comfort zone is an incredibly powerful way to empower yourself and broaden your perspectives. We should each aim to personally achieve a small, challenging goal at least once a week,as Francesca Becucci - my study partner in this journey, rightly suggested me yesterday. What is your challenging goal for this week?#wine#entrepeneur#winebusiness—— 🍷 I am Claudia, WSET Lev. 3 certified wine professional. If you are fascinated by Tuscany but you don't know how to scout the most authentic and unique wines of this region🍷 𝙎𝙪𝙗𝙨𝙘𝙧𝙞𝙗𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙬𝙞𝙣𝙚-𝙡𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝 𝙢𝙮 𝙬𝙚𝙗𝙨𝙞𝙩𝙚, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙚𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙨, 𝙬𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙧𝙤𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙢𝙮 𝙥𝙧𝙞𝙫𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙞𝙣 𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙫𝙞𝙚𝙬! 📩

Today, I proudly announce the launch of the Zürich Wine Academy! The journey began in 2021 after leaving a career in finance to pursue my passion for wine in Europe. In the kitchen of my family's cottage, my wife and I devised the idea of chronicling our winery visits in a travel blog. The idea of 500 Wineries took form whereby our goal would be to visit 500 wineries worldwide. After visiting 169 wineries across 11 countries in two years and writing about them in our 500 Wineries Blog, that idea expanded into delivering in-person wine education experiences. In January, we hosted our first wine event in our kitchen in Zürich.Everything happens in the kitchen! After several successful events, including an event at Google and with J.P. Morgan, we explored opening a wine academy in Zürich, as our city had no local wine education providers. We discovered a strong demand for wine MasterClasses, events, certification programs, and wine trips, so we formally established the Zürich Wine Academy.Around three years ago, I learned about the Wine Scholar Guild, the leading provider of certification programs on the wines of France, Italy, and Spain. When 500 Wineries was born, I began studying for the Italian Wine Scholar Unit 1: Wines of Northern Italy. After completing the course, I continued my journey and finished all their certification programs! As you can imagine, I am a huge fan of the Wine Scholar Guild, its in-depth, comprehensive curriculum, and outstanding program delivery. With the fantastic partnership of the Wine Scholar Guild team, we are now the first Wine Scholar Guild course provider in Switzerland! We offer all the certification courses in-person and virtually. We also designed our own non-certification Zürich Wine Academy Courses to cater to enthusiasts and wine professionals who do not have the time to commit to outside study. These courses combine hands-on wine education and a standardized approach to tasting wine with Sommelier service instruction but without exams. We offer the Zürich Wine Academy's Wine Confidence Course and Wines of the World Part 1 and Part 2 in the classroom and virtually. These courses do not replace traditional wine certification programs but offer a life-friendly glide path for wine enthusiasts and professionals to attain wine knowledge and service experience without additional time commitments outside class.Click here for more information on our website: https://lnkd.in/eaEhpvEBFor those not living in Europe, we offer an exclusive Burgundy Grand Cru Travel Experience in November, with plans to provide additional wine expeditions in 2024. Please subscribe to our newsletter and stay tuned. Also, we publish fantastic wine content on our social media channels - Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and our LinkedIn page atZürich Wine Academy - so check us out!!Thank you all for your support, and a big thanks to our outstanding team:Griselda Cuevas, Amelie(Yi-Jung) CHU, and Fiona Chin.

✨ Happy 4th of July! 🇺🇸 Did you know Champagne has been consumed in the US for hundreds of years? It has. That’s part of why it’s actually a popular choice for popping on Independence Day! My 4th of July post is inspired by my current lifelong learning endeavor in the Wine Scholar Guild Champagne Master Level Certification course (yay lifelong learning!), and learning about the history of Champagne’s export market to the US. It makes sense why we love the bottled bubbly so much, and why we used to view it as something only the wealthy/elite drank, versus now where our perception has changed and we gravitate towards Champagne in much larger numbers, compared to generations before. Champagne also has deep ties to my personally held passion for veteran-connected wine and wineries. Something I’ve been talking about over on my Instagram page for the last week, albeit with American veteran-connected wines and wineries. In the Champagne region, significant WWI & WWII battles were fought with trench + other warfare destroying most of the vineyards during WWI. The deep military and French (+ allied) veteran history (and significant bloodshed) that took place in Champagne changed the meaning of terroir when we consider the terroir of Champagne. So while Champagne is intrinsically French, our shared military history during the World Wars helps explain a multinational love for the bubbly beyond our appreciation for the wine itself. Think about that when you sip your next glass of Champagne. But today, go ahead pop go that bottle of Champagne (or sparkling wine made in the traditional method), or American veteran-made wine, and toast to my favorite country ever - the USA! 🇺🇸 (…and of course, shameless plug that I am actively job searching and filled with fun wine industry and military-connected facts like this if you want someone on your team like me. )Happy 4th of July, LinkedIn! ✨ 🍾

Celegrating 6 Months at Enate Group!I am delighted to announce my six-month anniversary working at the Enate Group. Precisely, at both wineries Bodega ENATE and Bodega LAUS.In the light of my job, I am gaining experience and knowledge related to client care and public speaking among others. Being part of the Enoturism segment within the marketing department, I firstly had a limited understanding of wine and no particular interest in it. This indeed, represented a big challenge for me, which I reckon that I have successfully overcome. Conducting guided tours and wine tastings in both Spanish and English is part of my responsibilities, which required a great deal of self-confidence and the ability to explain technical aspects of wine to visitors from around the world. However, I didn’t feel daunted. Not even when I had to answer tricky questions from some expert visitors. For instance, I was asked once regarding price differences within a wine region. While grape varieties and climate are similar, the production process plays a key role. Aging wines in barrels is generally more expensive than tank aging. Additionally, wineries build their brand reputation, which can also influence price.High-end wineries crafting complex wines often charge more than others in the same region.Undeterred, I embraced the challenge and relied on my colleagues' lessons. Over time, I refined my speech and incorporated technical vocabulary to describe wine aromas, tastes, and sensations. Not to mention, that I discovered that I could effectively convey complex information in an accessible and engaging manner easing visitors’ approach to the topic of wine. Indeed, visitors highly appreciate and enjoy it. I personally realized that few people explore wine’s world in depth due to the intimidating and confusing concepts surrounding it.On another note, this job is allowing me to develop other skills, such as problem-solving, working under pressure and my change adaptive capacity.Acknowledging these thoroughly enriching 6 months at Enate winery, I am eager to keep growing within this entrepreneurial group.

OK, LET’S BE HONEST HERE…I am closing Week 2 of my Diploma 4 in Wines and I feel overwhelmed by the level of detailed information I will have to learn 😳 I passed quite easily level 3 of the WSET thanks to the background education I had from working 16+ years in the wine industry, but hey……Diploma 4 si something different 📚🍷These days I feel like I am recovering from the initial shock, as I learned how much efforts I will have to put in this journey, if I want to try and pass the exams without having to re-sit. Well, an exam re-sit is also ok, and highly probable 😅 but the goal I am visualizing is to pass all of them at the first time! Now that I have consciousness about how many study hours I will have to put int this, I am starting to manage my agenda differently, focusing at least two hours a day into it, without any social media notification or ‘emergency’ tasks.A catch up day to cover any left over study if life gets in the way, I think will be very useful as well 🤷♀️➡ WSET School London fellow students, what are your feelings?➡ How are you dealing with such an amount of tasks are we assigned to complete by the end of every week?#wine#tuscany#winebusiness—— 🍷 I am Claudia, WSET Lev. 3 certified wine professional.
